HEARTS & ARROWS

PASSION8 Diamonds are precision cut in a way that creates exactly eight perfect hearts and eight perfect arrows. This perfectly symmetrical 58 facet cut ensures light refracting through the diamond only comes out the top surface. The result is an extraordinary brilliance that allows your diamond to perform amongst the best.

Depth of cut is another factor that we get exactly right.PASSION8 Diamonds are not too shallow and not too deep, PERFECT.

PASSION8 DIAMONDS ARE PERFECTION PERSONIFIED.

Less than 1% of the worlds diamonds are of a high enough standard to become a PASSION8 Diamond. Once hand selected, the rough stones are expertly cut to exact and perfect mathematical proportions by some of the worlds most qualified diamond cutters and polishers.

The cutting can take up to 5 times longer than cutting an ordinary stone and up to 10% more rough weight will be sacrificed to achieve the perfect cut. The result however is breathtaking. Each one of the 58 facets is cut to perfect mathematical proportions, revealing 8 perfect hearts and 8 perfect arrows within the stone. This ensures light refracting through the diamond only comes out the top surface, creating an extraordinary sparkle. Such a sparkle in fact, that PASSION8 Diamonds will perform 2-3 shades of colour whiter and brighter when dirty than an ordinary diamond.

THE 4C'S

In the jewellery world, diamond quality is assessed using the '4C's' - carat weight, colour, clarity and cut. The first three are determined by geology; only cut is controlled by humans.Diamonds are formed in the Earth between one billion and three billion years ago. The recipe goes something like this: Bury carbon-containing minerals 160 kilometres underground, heat them at 1200°C, squeeze under extreme pressure(about 7 gigapascals), then quickly rush this mixture(via volcanic eruption) to the Earth's surface to cool.Rarity and beauty make diamonds the perfect symbol to represent true love, magnificent achievements and important milestones.

THE CUT

The most defining characteristic of any diamond is its cut. This determines the symmetry of the stone, its overall proportions and its ability to reflect light.

How a diamond cutter cuts and polishes a diamond will affect the amount of sparkle and brilliance that comes from the stone when it interacts with light.

How light strikes the surface, how much enters the diamond and in what form that light returns to your eye — cut dictates all this and more.

A polished diamond’s proportions affect its light performance, which in turn affects its beauty and appeal.

THE COLOUR

Diamonds come in a variety of colours, ranging from rare, clear diamonds to those that have a yellow or brown tint. The less colour, the higher the grade.

A universal colour scale classifies diamonds from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown).

Diamonds without colour are rare. Most diamonds used in jewellery are nearly colourless, with pale tints of yellow or brown.

THE CARAT

The industry determines the size of a diamond by weight, measured in carats.

One diamond carat weighs 200 milligrams. The industry weighs smaller diamonds using a point system, with every 100 points being equal to 1 carat.

How light strikes the surface, how much enters the diamond and in what form that light returns to your eye — cut dictates all this and more.

Larger diamonds are rarer than smaller diamonds, so all other factors being equal, a single 1-carat stone is worth more than four quarter carat stones put together. However, the worth of a diamond is determined by all of the first four Cs. Size alone does not determine value.

THE CLARITY

Clarity refers to how perfect the stone is. Almost all diamonds have some internal imperfections (such as pinpoints and crystals) called inclusions, and some external blemishes (such as scratches and chips) or both.

The fewer flaws a gemstone has, the higher its clarity grade and the more valuable it is.

Most diamonds have flaws that the naked eye can see only with the help of high-powered magnification. These flaws do not affect the splendor of the diamond.

  • Mini PASSION8 scope (round diamonds only)

The result however is breathtaking. Each one of the 58 facets is cut to perfect mathematical proportions, revealing 8 perfect hearts and 8 perfect arrows within the stone. This ensures light refracting through the diamond only comes out the top surface, creating an extraordinary sparkle. Such a sparkle in fact, that PASSION8 Diamonds will perform 2-3 shades of colour whiter and brighter when dirty than an ordinary diamond.

KIMBERLEY PROCESS

PASSION8 Diamonds are strictly sourced following the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), which stipulates that Kimberley Process (KP) members must adhere to specific requirements to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the legitimate trade. The KP currently has 54 participants, including Australia and New Zealand representing 81 countries. Each PASSION8 Diamond is carefully tracked from mine to consumer to ensure its journey is an ethical one.
